Yeah, because it works so fucking well in the USA…
Great idea

Although there are probably some better ones specially for old people. But Linux is usually pretty easy for old people, as not much needs to be done after setting it up and it just keeps running.

And as the normal route is too snort it, I’m pretty sure you will have a hard time to get that much stuff inside you at once
naeap@sopuli.xyzto News@lemmy.world•Cocaine "no worse than whiskey," would be "sold like wine" if legalized worldwide, Colombia's president says4·5 days agoWell, usually those go nice hand in hand

Woah man, I’m impressed
Was working my ass of in my job for years, but at home, I’m always just breaking down…
And since my burnout, I’m already happy, when I can accomplish the tasks on hand.
I really miss personal, fulfilling projects. But it seems, I just don’t have the energy anymore…
Well, you have to keep those “hereto” people entertained, that think, being gay is a choice
Happens to me, when I’m too lazy to really sit up in bed, when I want a sip of water during a short wake up
The cramping is hell…
naeap@sopuli.xyzto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do you use poweroff or suspend on your Linux systems? Why?2·6 days agoAh, fucking auto correct
Should have read: my nephew ;-)
Edit: and regarding your question:
Yeah, there some power management tools/deamons to configure in Linux, how to handle what.
Depends a bit on your distribution/environment, which tools are available - or make sense to be installed
naeap@sopuli.xyzto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do you use poweroff or suspend on your Linux systems? Why?1·6 days agoYeah, because of the same experience for the last 2 decades, I always shut my stuff down as well.
Then I gave an old laptop with Linux to my
neoprenenephew. And without further discussion or thinking, he just pressed the power button, when he wanted it to be off - which triggered some kind of sleep mode
I was so fucking nervous during that, as I had never tested for that, and for the young generation growing up with smartphones that was the obvious move.
But surprisingly it works like a charm and goes into some kind of standby.
At least I didn’t got any complains…
naeap@sopuli.xyztoHacker News@lemmy.bestiver.se•Build your own antisocial writing rig with DOS and a $2 USB keyEnglish3·6 days agoAs mentioned in the linked comments, I think just using something like Tinker Writer Deck ( https://tinker.sh/ ) or even just using something like focuswriter in a slimmed down modern OS, is a much easier approach - because of much easier interfacing with the outside world (and used hardware). That way you can use rather normal stuff like rsync to backup your work through an actual ethernet or WiFi connection.
But I must admit, I really like the sentiment of the article :-)
(Although I’m a bit put off by his self referencing as a ‘vulture’ - but maybe I’m just out of the loop here…)
naeap@sopuli.xyzto Microsoft@lemdro.id•Microsoft says everyone will be a boss in the future – of AI employeesEnglish4·7 days agoYeah, I tried just to be lazy and generate some regex and config file for a custom log format in lnav (multi log file viewer - at least for Linux, don’t know about other platforms)
And it pretty much ran circles with the mistakes it made. Every time I corrected it with something, it would make a mistake from before again.
In the end I did the thing myself and could have spared me off nearly an hour of trying this stupid trend of vibe coding…

naeap@sopuli.xyzto Transgender@lemmy.blahaj.zone•Trans Women in Sports: Debunking the Myth of a Competitive Advantage1·8 days agoWhat is the role of testosterone in athletic performance?
Not necessarily. The only aspect that has been shown to provide men with an advantage over women is testosterone. While trans women are maintained on low levels of testosterone during hormone therapy for a long enough period of time, there isn’t evidence showing a consistent performance or strength advantage.
That one doesn’t seem right.
That answer is the same as to the question before (Do trans women have an athletic advantage?)Anyone able to correct that directly? OP maybe?
Or else, someone should probably contact them…
I’m a currently too flat out after work to do anything - but criticism, it seems ;-)
naeap@sopuli.xyzto Israeli Crimes@lemmy.world•Haaretz reporter tries to run propaganda real-time and rage quits 😂1·8 days agoHm… Not getting anywhere (with posts in there) with that link on mobile
Could you try to format it in a fediverse way? Probably something like [email protected]
Edit: although I seem to find the community with that link, it’s just the same as with your link - both are empty :-\
Yeah, I need to keep my hair a bit longer to not look like a worm
So I bought one of those trimmers, you can connect to a vacuum. This sucks in the hair and it gets cut at least reasonable long. And every place I went, they just did their typical thing that’s currently en vogue, didn’t matter much, what I was saying. It was always just an adaptation of the current style.
So I gave up paying 30-100€ every few months, because they couldn’t get it right anyway.
If I need to look like shit for a few weeks, it should at least be cheap…

Hm… Having the exact opposite “problem”
I’m seemingly not able to leave projects and it feels, like I’ll never do anything new - relatively speaking for our branche
