Today’s game is the Oblivion Remaster. I picked it up yesterday and let it install while i slept since it was an 8 hour install for me. My first impressions are that it’s a really faithful remaster. And i don’t mean the Gameplay either, though the tech behind it is interesting to me due to the og code being underneath. The art style is what I’d imagine oblivion looking like if made with modern tools, minus the saturation being cranked up to 10 in the original and a few graphical discrepancies I’ve seen online such as the Night Mother’s two new children. I have one complaint so far personally and that is that they gave Glarthir a beard, which i’m not a fan of. That’s more of a personal complaint though.
The Graphical detail of this is really cool. It’s what i felt like playing the old game was like years ago. For example, The lighting in this gate blew me away. Granted i don’t believe it’s Dynamic lighting or anything, but it’s still really impressive. The new UI too is awesome. I felt like the original on Xbox was kind of clunky too use for some reason. So it’s a welcome change.
I ended up making a Breton Knight named Bard Allen. I based him off one of my many Baldur’s Gate 3 characters who never made it past act 1.
Despite everyone’s urging that the fate of the world is at stake, the first thing he did after getting out was go to the arena to gamble, and instead ended up a fighter himself. I brought him up too the first rank before getting ready to quit for the day. At Level 1 and fresh out of the Sewers he fared better than i thought he would
In a few instances i used debug commands to make a Diet-Photo Mode, and i wanted to take it up to the border of Skyrim since from what i hear the Throat of The World can be seen. Sure enough, i’m like 75% sure i found it. I was going to fly up to it but i moved too slow and didn’t feel like messing with console commands anymore, so instead i loaded my save before i used commands and left it at that.
Wait… who blew out of their boots on the bridge in the first image? 🧐
Stop! You violated the law!
I was so happy to see the leaks were true. I’ve been dying for an elder scrolls game with modern graphics and whatnot.
This game is really pretty. Here’s some shutterbugging I did this week. Mostly nature.
And of course, the welcome after the sewers:
I absolutely need a camera mode. Right now, I’m just using a mod to remove the UI.
“I saw a mudcrab the other day…”
Horrible creatures.
