I knew exactly what this was going to be. But yeah, its a fantastic song in its entirety.

While we should be seeing a lite version at 30% the price, we see a pro version at 50% more. Crazy.
PieMePlenty@lemmy.worldto Games@lemmy.world•What are some good examples of "Where the fuck do you go" kind of games?English11·1 day agoOld DOOMs up till 64. Halo 1 was also very repetitive in its lookalike hallways and got me lost multiple times. I don’t miss the get lost mechanics of these games. Especially in doom where the function of the many look alike chambers was unknown to me so the architecture made no sense.

Try Minami Lane. It’s a soft and cozy very light management game. Short and sweet. No romance or pink though.

The reality, while shitty, Microsoft still publishes games on multiple platforms (2 at minimum - PC and xbox). On PC, the games are sold on multiple storefronts with varying discounts and sales. Oblivion remastered just launched with a 17% discount on another store on PC for example.
Nintendo has a complete monopoly on the platform they publish for and completely control the prices.
For me, all these price increases are doing is moving me more towards PC. And to a larger degree off AAA titles all together.

And of course, the welcome after the sewers:
I absolutely need a camera mode. Right now, I’m just using a mod to remove the UI.

Bitwarden can’t access the passwords without my master pw (afaik) so I feel safe knowing that. I use it on all my devices so it gets synced there and even if the service is down, I have my passwords.
I’ll self host it when I reach the next level of paranoia.
PieMePlenty@lemmy.worldto Games@lemmy.world•Oblivion remake is... really making it apparent how outdated Bethesda is in its approach to making gamesEnglish142·6 days agoI see a lot of people downplaying the remaster as a fresh coat of ue5 paint. I’m playing the game, having disliked the original, and I’m loving it. I’m kind of impressed with what they did with the game, basically remaking the world elements in ue5 and leaving the gameplay as it was with minor tweaks. Fresh coat of paint feels more like rip out the drywall and do it again. Just leave the structure alone. Like, the electrical and plumbing is still there and feels the same but it looks completely different.
Games like this dont come very often, so if anything, this remaster and BG3 should raise the bar on what we should expect from a new TES game.
Can you really call yourself a person if you don’t write a profound fantasy novel which will influence the medium for the next century? Big L vibes if you don’t.
But seriously, while we are on the subject… I kind of thought when society would get more accepting of others, it would also become more accepting of different ideals, but that hasnt changed. While other sexual orientations, races, disabilities and the like have been accepted more than they were in history, we still seem to not be accepting of failure and small dreams. Why do we have to earn a lot of money to be successful? Why do we need to leave an impact on the world at all? Why does success even matter? Can I not just live in a small cottage in the middle of the forest doing nothing all day and have the smallest affect on the environment be enough? Why the hell do I need to strive towards writing the lord of the rings to be considered successful in the eyes of my fellow man?
I feel like if we changed our attitude towards what our goals should be and accept that not achieving anything and just living is enough, we’d all be in a better place.

Sending a pointless time wasting email is the epitome of this discipline. If you want in, you need to show them you can do it too. If you want to be an actual productive member of society, you wont do it and find a position where you don’t have to resort to such menial tasks.

Ahh, no problem then. We just need to add a little © to everything and we’ll be good. ©

My only metric for affordability was land price per m². Cost of utilities depends on size, small house wont be much more than an apartment. Of course this all depends on the location.
Maybe the US is different but all your points about freedom to do anything outside of cities is pretty much the same as in cities. Even though I live in a house, I cant just burn trash in it, I’ll get fined if I don’t pick up my dogs shit off the roads and I cant blast music after 10PM. The same laws apply. Cooperation with neighbors is there about as much as it is in the cities.
I think we probably have vastly different view points on what rural means. In my country, rural is not the middle of nowhere where I can do whatever I want. Such rural environment are uncommon here. “Outside of cities” here means living in close proximity to 100-200 other houses in a village. Rural middle of nowhere isn’t really a thing here.

Mom! I think grandpa is having a stroke! Call 911!
“Get off the phone, I’m trying to use the internet!”
OP actually has an affordable reality here. Its cities that are expensive, not rural areas and small houses. It depends on the location, but this is usually the case. The further away from urban centers you are, the less expensive it gets to buy. From my experience, a small city apartment costs the same as a spacious house with land outside of the city. There’s drawbacks to both, pick your poison.
I do. Its only a problem for about 3-4 weeks every year though. After that, the sun is high enough in the morning to not bother anyone.
Counted one crash due to this on my commute this year.
