  • Also, dont buy that cpu if your primary use is gaming. Its a huge waste of money to buy anything above the 7800X3D.

My idea was to future-proof the rig a bit with 8 extra cores. I know that nothing that is out today will see any difference in performance between those two CPU’s, but in one or two years, who can say? I got the same feedback when I bought the 8086K (“overkill”, which it WAS at the time it came out, but not so much in the last few years or so).

I tend to “overspend” a bit on a (nearly) fully new rig just so I can keep the system as-is for a few years at the minimum. I actually think this strategy saves me money in the long run when taking into account prices in terms of $/fps etc.

  • Interesting point. In the past, “fair” ways to divide a heritage often led to split kingdoms and fast power loss. That is why societies with “unfair” division rules, like the Vikings where EVERYTHING went to the first-born son, so no divisions, absolutely rocked hard in their primes since they weren’t prone to being weakened every time their ruler died.

Because it’s primarily a way for (old) societies to foster a war-ready populace. If most women are taken by just a select few men who can afford to, that leaves tons of young males without a mate and prospect of a family.

Those are absolutely prime candidates for the military. So if you know your ideology has a stranglehold on the culture, this is how you generate “unlimited” soldiers for your cause.

  • The alternative is to feel like you already knew “everything” at that earlier age… which can’t be true and simply denotes stagnation in your development.

You’re supposed to look back to any point in your past and say “I know a lot more now than I knew back then”. Which won’t always be the case, but if you find that you’ve “peaked” for a long period, chances are you just closed off your mind to new information.
