A no fly zone is being added around the Idris because too many players are ramming it and leaving junk all over the city. Most likely because this is causing some performance issues.
We’re currently working on adding a No Fly Zone around the Idris and the convention center — keep an eye on an upcoming PTU update for it when goes live!

It fricking sucks that they have to implement those guardrails.
I think it’s worse that after decades of industry experience and 13 years of their own, they still can’t predict something like this happening. For some reason CIG lives in their own bubble expecting people to role play instead of acting like… well, MMO players.
I’d love for that to be a feasible thing to strive for but that’s just not how people act in games unfortunately. I’m glad they’re doing something about it before live release at least.

yeah same.
Idk man, I don’t play a video game to separate my recycling and pay taxes, might as well bemoan players damaging the shelters on Space Invaders
Sure me neither but atleast I don’t act like an arse ruining immersion for my own fun (while diminishing it for others) either.
Yeah, also SC is a touchy point, I understand a lot of people have invested a lot of emotional energy (and cash) into making this a reality, if you want to get your jimmies out crashing ships play Kerbal or Space Engineers
I think it’s less about it being a touchy subject and more about CIG designing the game like they never played an online title before (i.e. not expecting people do to anything and everything to break things). At least that’s my main problem with this situation.
