For what it’s worth, the Army internally makes a big deal of it’s birthday every year. This is it’s 250th birthday and it happens to also be the same day as trump’s birthday. We all know better, but this gives them some deniability by saying it’s an Army birthday celebration and not a trump celebration.

Regardless, a military parade through the Capitol is a very uncomfortable idea.

DOGE was a tool to dismantle government. In that sense it’s succeeded. In saving money? Failed spectacularly. But that was never the goal.

I’m concerned that it wouldn’t back up the parade at all. Reboots and remakes of 80s shit has been the trend for a long time, so it’s not far-fetched to think we might see a new, American “Tank Man” scenario. It’s not what I want to see, but I didn’t want to see people getting disappeared away to concentration camps either. But fucking here we are.

Lafayette Square Massacre. Rated NC17. Coming this Summer.

If this were a movie, it would end with the very soldiers he ordered for his giant vanity project deposing him in response to some crescendo of barbarity on his part. That’s a downright Aesop of an ending - the villain defeated by his own vanity and pride. You order thousands of soldiers to perform a parade to celebrate your birthday, and it’s the last straw that causes them to straight up depose you in a military coup.
