It was mostly different elements of the Left, not really “Bernie Bros”. Bernie himself was out there campaigning for Biden and Harris the entire time. I think we need a better name for the Left factions who supported Trump in the election, misidentifying them is only going to create more divisiveness. Those “Bernie Bros” who listened to Bernie during the campaign and did what they could to stop Republicans don’t deserve to be lumped in with the dumbasses who actually helped them win.

News@lemmy.world•U.S. military willing to attack “designated terrorist organizations” within America, general says
161·7 days agoI think it is more a declaration of a willingness in the US military to engage in extrajudicial killings of Americans whenever Trump is ready to give the order. He is probably referring more to death squad type operations rather than full on military engagement.

90·7 days agoMy first impression reading his bizarre comment was that Trump believed a MAGA cultist killed the Reiners for their politics, and he was happy about that and taking credit for what happened. Basically, “look what happens to meddlesome priests”.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What substances are the local addicts using that make them always bending over at the waist?
4·13 days agoIt might be more prevalent with fentanyl but it’s not unique to it, I remember seeing the fold happening decades before fentanyl was around. I do think it is unique to opioids though, there’s a similar thing that can happen with dissociates but it’s got a different character to the movement and poses.

602·14 days agoIt’s not just fentanyl, it’s opioids in general. Junkies have been doing this long before fentanyl was available.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•I'm new to lemmy, came from reddit. What's the lemmy etiquette like? How different is it from reddiqutte?
12·22 days agoThat doesn’t seem true though, most actual leftists don’t like tankies and the people on Lemmy complaining about tankies seem to mostly be leftists themselves. Tankies are like LaRouchites, no one takes them seriously because the things they profess tend to be silly and they usually have that obnoxious College freshman master-debater energy. It’s not a left or right thing.
It’s vague on purpose, what contributes is entirely contextual. It would take a lot to explain in detail and I don’t see a reason to spend the time when a high level summary gets the idea across.

I set alarms and/or calendar reminders as a coping mechanism. I don’t always do the thing when the time comes but it at least gets forced back into my head over and over again until I eventually do it. My life has gone a lot smoother since I started doing this.

politics @lemmy.world•Georgia prosecutor who took over 2020 election interference case says he's dropping charges against Trump and others
202·27 days agoThe Republican party has not been a traditional political party in quite awhile now, Trumpism has fully transformed it into a dangerous cult. Continued affiliation with the Republican party in the current political context is plenty of evidence to know someone is deeply biased and poses a threat the rule of the law.

The basics of investing. Open a Roth IRA (or the closest equivalent if you’re not in the US) and then try to max it out every year. Learning how to manage money for the long term now will save you a whole lot of hassle down the road.
