If they made as much publicity for responsible disposal as they do for comsumption of their products, people would be better. They can also produce less or in better recipients.
tocano@lemmy.todayto News@lemmy.world•Coca-Cola is on pace to dump 1.3 billion pounds of plastic into our oceans each year7·19 days agoThe company makes the plastic bottles, which don’t need to be plastic, and then uses marketing to promote consumption. The people are not to blame for being exploited by the scheme of the corporations. If this company stopped existing tomorrow, I’m sure people would consume less just from the lack of advertisement.

Humanity was born way ahead of its time. The reason is grabby aliens.

I’d argue agents often participate willingly because they are conditioned to view the people as enemies threatening their lives. The phrase “just following orders” is used afterwards to ease guilt and shift responsibility.
Every corner of the world is in a way suffering from war, corruption, or civil unrest, not just “The West”
tocano@lemmy.todayto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is one moral you have that most people don't agree with?44·28 days agoFirstly, do you mean only animals aren’t possessions? What about all other things and resources?
Secondly, are you saying people should do they best to keep consumption to a minimum, while surviving themselves? Does this mean we could let all animals die and stop existing because we have no use for them, or should we do our best to maintain biodiversity and life on this planet?
tocano@lemmy.todayto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is one moral you have that most people don't agree with?2·28 days agoImmigration helps the common man by filling low level positions that most natives will not take. A lot of immigrants don’t know the local language and/or the local culture, so it is fair that they take free, unwanted jobs.
Further, there are a lot of protections for the workers, including immigrants, meaning wages and working conditions do not fall below acceptable standards. Immigrants strengthen the core pillars of industry, which might even lead to an increase in productivity and better conditions. They contribute to the economy and help pay public services which benefits the broader community.

However, people and media need to stop presenting every random research project as the NEW BIG THING, as that will just make non-technical people confused and lead to unnecessary hysteria.

Any action done with the intent to cause unnecessary harm is evil. However, you could argue that killing someone that tortures many others is less evil.

Weigh the soul of incoming HTTP requests using proof-of-work to stop AI crawlers.
In most cases, you should not need this and can probably get by using Cloudflare to protect a given origin. However, for circumstances where you can’t or won’t use Cloudflare, Anubis is there for you.
I am interested in joining this initiative. Also, in your manifesto, in footnotes
(4) “outweight” => “outweigh the”
(5) “memebers” => “members”
(7) “… but you might loose it …”, it should be “loose it” => “lose it”
(8) “freelly” => “freely”
