I mean, seems like these parents never wanted kids. It’s amazing how many pregnancies are accidental. I wonder how many would actually have children if everyone had 100% control over when to conceive.

I haven’t seen that happen to everyone I know around that age. Many still have their wits about them and see the current state of affairs as a clown show. Some are even out here on the streets protesting.

thingAmaBob@lemmy.worldto World News@lemmy.world•UK Supreme Court rules ‘woman’ means biological femaleEnglish233·16 days agoScottish courts ruled, and then upheld in the Scottish government’s favor, that sex is “not limited to biological or birth sex,” and must include those in possession of a gender recognition certificate (GRC).
But that was challenged in London’s Supreme Court by campaigners. And, in its ruling Wednesday, the country’s highest court said the meaning of the terms “sex,” “man” and “woman” in the U.K.’s Equality Act must refer to “biological sex” — with any other interpretation deemed “incoherent and impracticable.”
And here lies the issue. Maybe I am understanding how society and science are defining terms in these cases, but: doesn’t woman/man = gender (which differs depending on culture, time period, etc) and female/male = sex (which is a medical/scientific term)? It appears both sides of the table are trying to make these terms mean something they do not.
Either way, I see no practical point in actually making a law defining these terms, especially when the legal definition is not even correct scientifically speaking. There are so many biological changes that trans individuals go through when they medically transition and society will see them differently if they “pass” in their society. Also, sex isn’t so black and white either.

People really need to stop putting so much trust in to politicians, and those of us who are in oppressed groups (basically not rich, white, or cis man)… We need to stop thinking they’ll ever see us as equals, no matter how successful we are. They just don’t. Trump & company really think we are all as expendable and worthless as a plastic fork.
It’s even more wild because a few years ago, buying the OS on its own was half that price.

The market has taken horrible dives before and has recovered. I also don’t believe the USA is the only country that should be worried if something does go down. The fact that some experts are saying things could be different may be worrying, but ultimately no one knows. All we can do is try our best to prepare for the worst. I wouldn’t be surprised if the protests continue to grow over the summer months in the USA.
Yep. Traffic gets the hell out of the way and stops immediately if there are emergency vehicles trying to get through where I live, even in the city.
Currently in my (I think) 4th year out of 5. I took them because I kept getting adenoid infections and wanted to avoid two surgeries. Has been a major improvement, but I still have to take an allergy pill every day and the occasional nasal spray. Hadn’t had another infection since year 1. You have to get shots every 3-7 days for several months and then they slowly spread it out over time. I’m once a month now. If you don’t have insurance it’s very expensive, especially the first year.

I will gladly find other ways to get this information. I just use YouTube because it’s the easiest and has all of the people I like in one place.
Personally, I think either option is valid. Not everyone is cut out for the fight, and especially if you have children, it makes sense for a parent to do what is best. I wouldn’t blame anyone one bit for leaving. I honestly haven’t created an exit plan this far, so I might just end up staying and fighting.
I had to replace mine once. Put it in a safer spot and haven’t had to move it since. I can’t imagine what someone is doing where they’d need to replace a social security card 10 times.

This makes me glad that I immediately hunt down any fly I find in my home until it is dead. I had a sudden fly infestation years ago and have never been lazy about even just one fly in my home since.
