I go and look up the place I am searching for on Google Maps, see if it has a direct website / ordering system and always prioritise going direct if I can. Many now do, and by and large they have lower fees / lower minimum values since they don’t pay such a high premium for the platform.

In the UK we have this thing called a Post Code. And unlike some other areas of the world (looking at you, US Zip Codes) this is quite specific in that it only refers to maybe a maximum of 20 addresses (for my street it is five, and I live in a city); you can send a letter / route to somewhere usually with just a door number and post code.
So many services and apps want the first line of the address now, and then give you a list of addresses to choose from, many of which have the same street name and don’t show the post code clearly, if at all.
This is a solved problem, and it used to be fine. Why are they making it worse? 🙄

But they already have parcel postboxes, and whilst there’s no “check in” of parcels on those, as soon as everything is collected it’s scanned so I feel that’s fine?

In the UK we have “JRC Global Buffet” which is almost exactly what you describe. It’s…not great. I went because, like you, some friends were particularly enamoured with the place for some reason.

I’d go even lower, maybe 50mA. The main issue you’re fighting is internal resistance, which will cause things to heat up. Your other issue is that I’ve averaged things, however it’s quite likely that one or more cells has a significantly lower voltage than others (and therefore a higher resistance) so can cause more risk.
If you’re able to get the pack apart and measure the cells separately that will help a lot

I am assuming that 18v is 5 cells in series, with a nominal voltage of 3.7 x 5 = 18.5 volts. At 15.22 each cell is around 3 volts. 3 volts is usually considered the absolute minimum you can discharge cells to. (3.3v is considered flat) If it won’t charge, it’s probably dead.
It might be possible to rig up a charger to very very slowly charge the battery up to about 3.3 volts, at which point the proper charger might agree to fully charge the battery, but with the cells already below 3.3v there’s a good chance it won’t work even if you did that. And it’s not without risks.
I find it sad that we can’t switch back to the “old” autocorrect. The options are this annoying new version…or nothing. I tried living with nothing for a while and it’s not great.
The comment about new trains and old signalling is a bit weird, since on the Piccadilly they’re just adjusting signal positions so they can see them clearly from the new train cabs.
That said, there is a signal control upgrade in progress on the Bakerloo which will likely provide a little bit of uplift potential. On the Piccadilly they are planning to run 27tph with manual signals once they have the new rolling stock, since that has had the same control system upgrade a few years ago. That is getting to the limit of the signalling though.

These really annoy me. I used to spend a lot of time in Sweden so I tried pretty hard to get an account set up to let me pay by swish. I gave up. If you’re not a resident you can’t get a person number so you can’t get a bank ID so you can’t use swish.
What is frustrating is that lots of places I went required swish and wouldn’t take cash or card, so I ended up having to get other people to pay for me.
I bet many other systems in other countries are similar
