You can’t clothe a baby for a year with $5k? We did it for basically fuck all. Had a load of stuff handed on from other parents, got some stuff from ebay and in sales. The fuck are you dressing the kid in, solid gold? Also how much is this person spending on diapers? There is no way you’re spending $5k on nappies and clothes for a baby in one year, utter lunacy. Not that I agree with anything that Trump does, but this seems like a huge overreaction. I’m not from the US so I don’t know how expensive this stuff is over there, but if it really costs this much to clothe one baby for a year then fuck me and I’m shocked.
I remember asking this in a Discord server (ugh) a couple of years ago. The response? “Can you please refrain from asking such personal questions in this server.”
I miss the old days. Also fuck Discord.

I’d never heard or seen the software before, but after opening it, I let out an audible “what the fuck is this shit”. Luckily they got rid of it completely a couple of years ago.

kilonova@lemm.eeto Technology@lemmy.world•Microsoft's many Outlooks are confusing users and employeesEnglish2·1 month agoAlso, when you use the built in windows search to search for an installed program, except it doesn’t find it, but gives you web results instead. Microsoft needs to take a seriously massive step back and realise how much they’ve fucked up this basic stuff.
kilonova@lemm.eeto Technology@lemmy.world•Microsoft's many Outlooks are confusing users and employeesEnglish1·1 month agoI’d rather they remove all the new shit like “Settings” and just keep all the stuff they’ve had for god knows how many years. Control Panel ftw.
That’s wangernumb

You know as well as anyone that kids bullshit their parents all the time. Just because your kid might tell you where they’re going, doesn’t mean that’s where they’re going.
kilonova@lemm.eeto Casual Conversation @lemm.ee•What’s the strangest thing that’s ever happened to you that you still can’t explain?English101·2 months agoIn 2008, I was lying in bed watching some of the US presidential election on TV. I had no real interest in politics and am not from the US, but it was just something to put on while I fell asleep.
I dozed off then woke up in the middle of the night, and I vividly remember hearing these words come from the TV: “John McCain is the next President of the United States.” There was a picture of him on the TV and I think there were some results underneath which showed the votes. Not really caring either way, I turned the TV off and went back to sleep.
When I woke up the next day and went to college, I was absolutely fucking shocked when people were talking about Obama winning. I checked several news sites and they all confirmed Obama had won.
It genuinely feels like I slipped into some alternate reality or some shit because I can remember that line so strongly, and I’m absolutely certain that what I saw on the TV was that John McCain had won.
Could be down to me waking up and possibly being half asleep, but it felt more real than that. It’s so weird.
kilonova@lemm.eeto Casual Conversation @lemm.ee•Finally deleted my reddit account.English2·2 months agoYep. Was on reddit since like 2012 or 2013. Site was so different and a lot better back then. You subbed to a specific sub, you saw the shit you wanted to see. Now everything is completely overrun with politics and they’re banning people for absolutely no reason.
kilonova@lemm.eeto Bye Reddit@lemmy.world•Tried to make a new account, but every sub has a minimum karma limitEnglish3·2 months agoI made a new account like a month ago but realised that every single one of the comments I made (around 30-40) have 1 karma and not a single reply. When I try and view my account on a different device logged out, it says the account is suspended. Basically a shadowban and I have no idea why. Fucking shithole of a website.

I remember downloading 2 fast 2 furious from either Kazaa or Limewire. Pressed play. Opening scene was some detective guy stood outside on a dark evening in a long brown coat. Was kind of like a noir vibe to it. Then all of a sudden it cuts to a woman just sucking him off on the pavement. Had to nope the fuck out as quick as possible as my family were in the room lol.
Agreed. Anyone paying 5k to clothe a baby for a year is braindead.
