You are right in that’s not how democracy works. Unfortunately, due to gerrymandering and Citizens United, it’s how the U.S.’s bastardized version of it “works.” Thanks to gerrymandering in my state (which is a test bed for much of the nonsense we’re now seeing at the federal level), I have absolutely no voice in our state legislature, which has recently decided to neuter the other two (actually democratically elected) branches of government here.

The U.S. government does not speak for the majority of its citizens. It speaks for one man and his handlers.

The U.S. won’t need regulations once the last of its trade partners gives up on it. We’ll be free to eat all the domestic lead and asbestos our dear masters deem necessary to feed us.

I recently deleted my active, 16-year-old, account after being told I was inciting violence simply by commenting that a particular GOP senator had himself to blame for an issue he was trying to pin on others.

AKA a “Propaganda campaign.” Or as the kids call it now, a ”Psy-Ops Mission.”

And all of this hardship was not only preventable, but was actively brought on by the nonsensical actions of one 34-count felony fraudster. This is a needless, government-induced crisis that rests squarely on the shoulders of a cowardly Congress that refuses to do its job while a madman destroys the economy.

I agree. There are certainly anti-homeless benches throughout US cities, but this looks more anti-skateboard than anything. It may not be comfortable or practical, but it IS sleepable.

Run liberals as GOP candidates. Then vote Republican. But vote for liberals.

SomethingAwful was an amazing moment in Internet history, but it seems everybody involved in its operation ended up in a Greek tragedy of epic proportions. The wreckage is still washing up in the damndest places.

I won’t complain, but every one of these corrupt individuals shares responsibility for the current state of affairs (McConnell most of all for pushing so hard to ram Citizens United down our throats). May they be successful in passing this act, but may they all rot in hell afterwards.

I think the main reason we never fully recovered from 2008 was because of Mitch McConnell’s personal pet project, Citizens United, which handed full control of the government over to those who caused the problem in the first place.
