  • I have done this repair a few times on dells. It sucks but doable. This was during covid and we had huge delays on getting new devices, so was taking parts from diffrent computers to make a working one. All mine worked fine, I’m good with mechanical things, but Practice stopped when coworker tried it and put long screws where short ones go and the case now has very noticeable bumps next to the mouse pad.

Also shocking how NO ONE knew how to change thermal paste on a 5 year old laptops or why they were all thermal throttling. Corporate waste is real.

  • As someone with 902 hours on steam and about that much on the standalone client, I highly recommend you dont. It will consume the next month of your life. If you do buy it. Learn about blueprints and how to import them. Dont have to use others but one of the better teaching tools in the game for belt mechanics. If you like trains, use the mods, the train logistics mods make them so much better, but do take some study to make work.

  • Was a Honda mechanic for a very long time. The base level knowledge of how stuff just works always surprises me. 90s level and earlier cars you could fix alot on your own. 2003 and beyond though, cars are too damn complicated. For mechanics working on them, the labor rate never went up to match the complications with the new crap they put out.
