I followed the project on discord a while ago (yuck) and it seemed the creators had other things come up in their personal lives and the browser got put on the back burner. The zen browser seems to fill a similar firefox-based niche though.

yeah imo matrix is better in most ways except for being lightweight, though that is also being worked on. irc has a place but for normal use I think matrix is better than irc.

heads up the windows releases work but they can be messy because most of the devs are on linux/mac and testing windows is more difficult.

though they should remove those ugly sponsored top sites by default imho.

also at the moment there’s quite a few smaller updates between when the AUR version was released and now, it will probably be updated for the dot 88/89 release (probably 89 now since firefox 88 is about to be out of date)

yeah I agree, foss games are cool but most of them don’t even get close to what most proprietary games have been able to do unfortunately.

I don’t really agree but even if that’s the case it’s definitely more than just gnome with a few plugins now. I imagine cosmic will be the same down the line.

Fwiw for people saying it’s just gnome with a few extensions, the same could have been said for elementaryOS and pantheon DE when it came out, and look where they are now. They also might be doing it so that they have more control over what they’re offering with their products instead of being expected to follow gnome.
