I suppose my point about earlier calls for help by Plaid is still true though, fuck knows what Labour and the Tories were playing at.
Navarian@lemm.eeOPMto Wales (Cymru)@lemm.ee•Plaid Cymru leader calls for Port Talbot investment after British Steel deal1·14 days agoIt’s my understanding that all three furnaces are decommissioned at Port Talbot - I imagine it’s cheaper/more economical to recommission existing furnaces than it is to start from scratch.
Government funding could do exactly that, though given they left it to close down in the first place when they had a chance to save it, I doubt they’ll heed Plaid’s call here sadly.
We should just be doing the same with Israeli headlines “Genocidal warmongers claim X”
Navarian@lemm.eeto World News@lemmy.world•Why Trump is struggling to secure fast ceasefire in UkraineEnglish5·1 month agoIt should come as a surprise to nobody that a complete unwillingness to have something come to an end is quite a barrier to said thing coming to an end.
That mixed with incompetence, even if he wanted the cash cow that is the illegal invasion of Ukraine to end, he’s not intelligent enough to navigate that.

“So it turns out veering gradually to the right just isn’t working for us, it’s probably the ‘far left’s’ fault”
I knew as a European that the US only had two right wing parties, with the democratic party sitting firmly to the right of most of our centrist parties here, but this is just fucking stupid.

Why ask me to declare it if you’re going to ignore that? There’s probably cause for a complaint there but I’d rather not waste the oxygen.

Attempts at cleaning it usually end up with the drawer now being somewhere else, but it clings to life somehow.
I think they’re just a fact of life at this point.
Tips aren’t included in the meal prices over here (Wales), our servers just get paid actual wages for the actual job that they’re doing.
For those that didn’t see the rest of this tweet, Frankie Hawkes is in fact a dog. A pretty cute dog, for what it’s worth.

User experience is big for me here, the broken images are something of a frustration that I’ve been dealing with for a while now, so the option to combat that is a clear winner for me.
Also, I want to thank you for coming to us for feedback, yet another reason I’m glad I decided to settle here on Lemm.ee.
Navarian@lemm.eeto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is Lemmy an effective alternative to Reddit?191·7 months agoI imagine we all have different use cases, my idea of Lemmy succeeding may not be your idea.
That being said, as a replacement for Reddit, where I can scroll through the top say 50 posts once or twice a day, it absolutely fits the bill.
Engagement is much better for me here, I imagine due to the smaller size of the community, that lends itself to their being much less useless garbage comments and much more constructive or informative discussion.
The above being said, I do wish there were more people here.
Absolutely fair enough, I’m just a somewhat ignorant Welsh man!
They have only ever been described here as American/Native American.
Though now that you mention this, Cowboys & Indians suddenly makes a lot more sense to me.
Are there actually Amish people in India?
I can’t tell if this is real or not.

Navarian@lemm.eeto World News@lemmy.ml•In killing Nasrallah, Israel chose to open the gates of hell. We'll all pay the price82·7 months agoWell written.
I fear there are many on Lemmy that don’t truly grasp the gravity of the current geopolitical climate, and despite you laying it out here with ease, people will disagree with your assessment.
Keep writing like this, we need as many doses of reality as we can muster in amongst the genocide apologists and arm chair experts.

Navarian@lemm.eeto World News@lemmy.world•Israel detonates Hezbollah walkie-talkies in second wave after pager attackEnglish837·8 months agoIsrael isn’t targeting non-combatants
How many thousands of children have been slaughtered by Israeli troops?
If you want to be pedantic, and you’re talking only about this specific attack, children were killed in these pager/walkie-talkie blasts too. Are they enemy combatants to you?
Don’t be a genocide apologist.
How can you see this genocide unfolding, ethnic cleansing at a minimum of you’re scared of using the G word, and still say “Well, I don’t really want to take a side here”
This kind of rhetoric enables these war crimes. You’ve outlined yourself what Israel is doing, and they’re going to continue because the western governments aren’t doing anything real about it.
The least we can do as individuals is call them out on their bullshit and remind others around us that the genocide they’re committing is entirely fucked up and unjustifiable.
