  • Its quite odd that Ukranians were being handled differently in the first place.
Its as if they were deemed to have more value than those pesky normal refugees.

Here in Germany during the “refugee crisis” 2015 I noticed a heavy uptick in ticket controls in the public transport, while as with Ukrainians during 20222 the public transports advertised on billboards that Ukrainian refugees can drive for free. Biggest difference between the two groups? The skin color…

I know it is only anecdotal but to me it was noticeable.

  • I suspect Jones will fall into his late Bush-Era generic conspiracy-laden libertarian skeptic persona until Trump can find a way to get poll numbers back up near parity again.

He is licking a lot of Elmo boot at the moment so he might pivot to more of that.

Jones sacrificed too much of his integrity, in the hope that people will mistake his vicinity to power with wielding actual power, to pivot hard back to his old persona. I don’t think the real libertarian types will forget Jones’s enthusiasm for a police state, as long as 'his guy’s is the one in power.

On the other hand that would require critical thinking skills and some level of integrity and most people in those circles lack at least one of those.

Edit: I’ve been waiting for his buyer’s remorse to kick in since at least 2017 so this is tasty as fuck.

  • My grandfather died in the 80s, 20 years later my grandma got a boyfriend, a widower similar to her age, so both in their mid 70s. She once said that she thought she would be alone for the rest of her life and never thought she would be so in love again.

They never married but had 15 beautiful years with each other. What I’m saying is that it’s never too late to find happiness, no matter what that might entail.

Well regular soldiers also get hired to do that, the big difference is the employer, as a regular soldier you’re employed by the state, as a mercenary by a private entity.

In war they are more or less treated the same under the law, they’re counted as regular combatants.

Mercenary business is always at least a little shady, since they often get used for shady stuff.

  • I don’t know if you did that, but for anybody struggling with those:

You’re supposed to put them together at an angle, so that the outer wall of the tins forms one straight line from top to bottom. Like this:

Tin tin shaker fixed at an angle

To open it you take them into one hand, hold them on the side where they form the straight line. Then take your other hand and gently smack against the part where the both tins connect with your palm

    Here:

Since tin tins are hard to break (though not impossible I can tell from experience) you could also use a hard surface and more force if needed.

If they’re still stuck, let some warm water run on where they connect and try again. Although the drink might get watery if you take too much time.

  • Under “Goals” on the Wikipedia page.

Its goal is to allow consumers to compare the overall nutritional value of food products from the same group (category), including food products from different manufacturers.

But, I agree that it’s confusing. The fact that you could miss the point of them even after skimming the Wikipedia shows how flawed their design is by not explaining it in simple terms on the label. And the Wikipedia page is also bad, why is it not mentioned in the first sentence in the introduction part?
