Congrats! I get the sleepy part. I sometimes feel like I just want to fall asleep whatever time of day after a run.

Do you wear normal running shoes? I tend to struggle with the drop they have. But I have enjoyed running in barefoot shoes and even completely barefoot. It definitely makes me forefoot strike more.
I’m pretty light. I’ve been told i run gracefully, but I also over stride a bit so my form is definitely not perfect.
Probably the 10k. It’s a nice round number and also the first distance I ran in a race (except for races as a kid). I think it’s also the distance that suits me the best.
HappySquid@feddit.chto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How many calories does a standard whole blood donation burn?1·2 years agoYeah. “Calories in calories out” is correct in theory but it is an oversimplification. Most people burn a vastly majority of their calories “at rest” by just maintaining their body temperature.
HappySquid@feddit.chto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What are the most mindblowing things in mathematics?1·2 years agoJust to add to this. Another way could be to find a specific construction. If you could for example find an algorithm that given any even integer returns two primes that add up to it and you showed this algorithm always works. Then that would be a proof of the Goldbach conjecture.

Running. I’m pretty fit and I work out (retty much only bouldering tho). Despite running on average once a month I can run a 45 min 10k. I think if I actually trained for running I could be pretty good but I just prefer climbing as a sport.
HappySquid@feddit.chto Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•Linux users are the vegans of the computer world7·2 years agoLinux Mint is pretty good, it has a Windows 7 kind of feel to it. Fedora is also nice, it great for tablet, also with touch. Both work pretty well and consistently out of the box.

I participated. It was awesome being able to make a difference just by spending some time on it. I never really felt that in Reddit (I didn’t participate in the first one).
I agree. For me it’s not the fights but the artworks that take the shape they can. As in Flags in non rectangle shapes and in general works adapting to their environment.
This is why grass roots is so important.i struggle to believe in anything that isn’t bottom up motivated.
HappySquid@feddit.chto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Hey selfhosters, what are you selfhosting?English2·2 years agoI understand the Bitwarden not hosted yourself. I’m somewhat of a noob myself and wouldn’t trust myself for it. But Nextcloud seems to me like it’s not too big of an issue if it’s down for a day or two. Do you often work with remote files? I am planing on just using Nextcloud for syncing which can wait.
HappySquid@feddit.chto Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•Devs Announce FaceIT Anticheat for BattleBit will be compatible with Linux, Steam DeckEnglish1·2 years agoTo me it sounds like that will mean most of them, they just don’t want to commit to saying all because there will always be another distro they missed.
HappySquid@feddit.chto Switzerland@feddit.ch•Swiss are not as good at English as they might think, study findsEnglish3·2 years agoThis really surprises me. In the circles I’m in almost everyone is pretty much fluent in English. I thought you g people especially would skew the score up.
My experience is largely similar. The thing is I don’t like tinkering with my system much but my home desktop is still running Linux mint that I installed 2 years ago flawlessly. I don’t run windows anywhere because Linux just works and I don’t need to go configure a bunch of things because the defaults are quite sensible.
Fedora on my surface Wich I’m really happy with and not likely to switch. I choose it because it runs well with the touch and thedrawing pen. Linux mint on my home desktop. I’ve had it for 2 years now and it’s just been working flawlessly so I probably won’t switch any time soon but I’m definitely willing to switch to some other Linux distro if the need arises. It was a great first Linux distro and still just works.
Could you elaborate on “Toastyour muesli”? What do you mean? Do you put it in a pan?
