Fitik
Hello! That’s my main mbin account, my alt is @Fitik, I also have a furry/personal account at @fitik
I’m just a regular person from Israel🇮🇱, a queer, and a #Fediverse enthusiast! I’m a liberal
I don’t post much stuff, but when I do I usually post about #tech because I’ve mostly given up on trying to argue on there

Fitik@fedia.ioOPto ChatGPT@lemdro.id•OpenAI may be developing its own social platform, but who’s it for?2·7 days agoIt’s already a thing btw, I’ve heard of “Status” multiple times already, but I think the OpenAI one is meant for people to communicate with each other
I might be able to help, not as sysadmin, but with else — why not, I even admin r/mbin subreddit, I recall I seen you on matrix, but you can contact me on it at @fitik:matrix.org . I may be busy, but I will respond when I’ll have time, and can answer questions if you’ll have any
I think it makes sense for them, their goal is specifically to create a safe space for queer folk, it’s not a generic instance. The Fediverse gives defederation power, so it makes sense for them to use it, and if their users don’t like that “isolation” they can always switch to a different instance. Even tho I agree that it seems to be a bit extreme, but I’m not their user.
I recommend joining [email protected] , it seems more appropriate for such questions
Maybe sh.itjust.works or lemmy.sdf.org or lemm.ee? Or infosec.pub?
There’s also discuss.tchncs.de that is focused on tech

Fitik@fedia.iotoFedia Discussions@fedia.io•(Defederated user's) Comments on my Lemmy thread don't reach Fedia3·12 days agoHonestly I am wondering too, we also defederate ani.social , another thematic instance, they seem to be well moderated, so I’m unsure about the reasons
Fitik@fedia.ioto Technology@lemmy.world•Not sure what this means for AI but it was a small pick me up, for me11·13 days agoAnd the source is…? Random Twitter account? How is it even allowed there?
This post lists some well-federated instances

Fitik@fedia.ioto Fediverse@piefed.social•[Lemmy] Lemmy Release v0.19.11: security fix, mods can see votes4·23 days agoYou can already see votes if you’re using different software anyways, check how it looks on my mbin instance, I can click “Activity” and see it already.
I don’t think it’s something limited to Fedi, but internet in general. The whole social media “algorithm” promotes such posts, an edgy extreme post filled with hate will get more reactions and upvotes, than a “lame” conventional opinion, so you’re more likely to see it. I am not sure how to even fix it, I think it’s one of the fundamental problems if the internet, but this is how it is
I think it’s great news, I use Droid-ify, third party client, just because the official F-Droid app is not very good, and it could improve it a lot
