An example of great parenting. Kid asks question, answer question honestly and briefly. No need for a lecture.
I painted the radio antenna on my Subaru florescent orange for that very reason. I probably should have used plastic flowers instead.
Demonmariner@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What programs do you wish a good FOSS alternative existed, but doesn't or most of the FOSS alternatives simply aren't good?2·17 days agoMicrosoft Access. I have one database that I need that’s written in Access, and although I suppose I could convert it to some other system it would be a chore and I’m not that driven to make the change.
I’ve moved almost everything else onto Linux.
The market has given up about one year’s gain, so people who have held diversified portfolios for longer than that haven’t really "lost"anything.
Yet.
I’m going to a local protest tomorrow. If someone asks why I’m there I’ll just say Jennie told me.
Demonmariner@lemmy.worldto Casual Conversation @lemm.ee•Do you prefer winter over summer and spring?English2·1 month agoI like winter better. Things around here are often on fire during the summer.
Oh cool. Thanks for the explanation, and btw, that’s much better than the Batman logo.
Vielen Dank!
I have a basic DP question.
After discovering the strip here, I went to the website and started reading it from the beginning. Jennie always has the same logo on her shirt. What is it? I’m pretty much out of the loop on that sort of thing.

Yes, very timely, considering.
Demonmariner@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•"I Let My Little Kids Run Wild in Public. Join Me!" Opinions101·2 months agoThe writer of the article is treating child rearing as if it requires PhD level child psychology. It doesn’t.
A child’s behavior is almost always ok if it is safe, non-destructive, legal, and NOT OFFENSIVE TO OTHER PEOPLE IN THE SAME SPACE. It doesn’t even matter if the other people’s idea of “offensive” seems reasonable or not. If their children are bothering others, a responsible parent will either curb their behavior or take them elsewhere.
The writer apparently doesn’t understand that last part.

Ya, ain’t that shit the truth?
Swear words are special words, that you shouldn’t use just any fucking time you feel like it.

Also Chincoteague oysters. Or actually, just about any Chesapeake Bay seafood is great.
77: yes, I feel old, but only sometimes. Mostly in the early morning.
