The bars on her stall are to keep her and other horses from getting at each other if one gets close enough. All the horses have them on their stalls and it’s a standard design where I’m from. The horses aren’t bothered by it, even though it may look a bit grim to us humans. A lot of people hang toys and salt licks from the bars as well, so they’re useful on top of being precautionary. I don’t put toys on Sandy’s stall because she can get anxious around new things and I don’t want her to be afraid of her own stall.
