No, but it’s telling that everyone in the committee would vote for something like that. It would need a full house vote, a senate vote and a presidential signature to become law. Which is definitely possible with the current make up of Congress.

And it’s not like you can count on the Supreme Court to strike something like that down even if it is blatantly unconstitutional.

No, it would require a constitutional amendment. The 8th and 14th Amendments block exile as a punishment

Not with this Supreme Court. They’ve been happy to ignore the actual letter and intent of the constitution before. Democrats/liberals need to get out of the mindset that the law still matters to these people, it doesn’t. You’ll be lucky if the midterms still happen in 2026.

And they did also do that little thing where the executive is now immune. Its a farce, shadow puppets to point at and sooth you til the next headline

There is an international law against removing all national ties to an individual. You cannot exile them from all countries with no home country. It’s much bigger than the constitution at this point.

Ah yes, I’m sure the international law police is going to break down Trump’s door and arrest him when he tries.

Who will step in? If Trump ships Americans to Guantanamo or El Salvador, who is going to do anything about it? If the past is any guide, even Democrats wouldn’t go after Trump if they somehow manage to get in power again.
