If 80% of the funding of all major browsers comes from the same source, I am honestly not sure this is a bad thing long term. And so much money for “just” browser development?

I am probably a bit naïve on real world costs but Mozilla spending 450 million on Firefox development sounds excessive. They may use the money for supporting other work they do, but then it wouldn’t be 80% of their browser budget gone, but less.
