I thought this was a reference to octopuses garden by the Beatles! They’re underwater garden snorkling or something. I could be extremely wrong.
He’s drawn a good number of comics that reference songs so that could well be it. Someone in the disqus comments thinks so too. The only other thing I can think of is “snorkeling for treasures + doing so in an silly place”, like snorkeling in the couch cushions or something.
