Note that searching for a .m3u8 file does not show anything.
The video in question is on snapchat web. I don’t have a (smart) phone on me right now, so I can’t download it the official way.
For social media videos I always just search for <service> video downloader, paste the link to the post and get the video. I do this for Facebook, instagram, and Reddit. I don’t want some plugin I’ll use rarely and the web downloaders seem to work fine.
Stacher.io can download from nearly any source.
yeah, its on snapchat, a chat app, so its not too likely to have a video downloader made, especially since the app supports video downloading (just not web).
Don’t use snap anymore, but I used to be able to turn my data off after loading the video, save it to gallery, then reset the app to prevent sending a message
I’m stuck on web rn, don’t have a working (smart) phone.
Its only a video of a guinea pig anyway.
You just said web though, right? Not the app. There’s downloaders for everything if you have a link to a public post.
“Snapchat video downloader” search gives me an entire page of downloaders. I don’t use Snapchat so I can’t comment on what works or doesn’t, but this is how I download any other social media video.
Its not a public post.
Hm, still might be worth a shot. There are ways to grab private posts when you’re logged in by using a browser console and finding the line for the video but I’m kinda too dumb for that. I’d probably just use a screen recorder at that point. I don’t need a Snapchat web-dl.
Its not a post at all, its a video someone sent me in a message.
I did try that, but it uses blob: urls so I can’t grab a direct linl.deleted by creator
ytdlp can handle a lot of these services.
I’ve been able to get SoundCloud shit that’s exposed by playlist but not downloadable without paying.
Record your screen while you watch it, then download your recording
I just searched for the original video on tiktok, where it came from.
I would do this as a last resort though.
I have no idea what a “blob: video” is but JDownloader is my go to for the vast majority of things I download. Now get off my lawn.
A blob is generally media content expressed in text form, usually base64 encoded
Oh. That sounds like it is I who should get off OP’s lawn then. Thank you :)
As a fan of jdownloader myself, it unfortunately does not work.
That bastard. Well, good luck on your search then.
Have you tried stacher.io ?
