I mean he was a snitch and his politics were kind of bad in general. Before someone says he only snitched on “tankies” that’s not true and not an excuse he included people for being in his words “anti-white” and included plenty of Irish nationalists who were truthfully barely socialists who occasionally praised the USSR not to mention the homophobia.
You are surprised someone was a homophobe in the 1940s? And why are you using arguments you usually hear from tankies that are partially not even true? Dude didn’t snitch shit. He compiled a list of people he thought unfit for anti-Soviet propaganda in the interior ministry which mostly contains sympathizers of the Soviets, people he suspected to be sympathizer or the British communist party members (annotated as F.T. for fellow traveller).
And sure, dude has some flaws that were rather typical for the time, but dude was a lot milder on his bigotry than many of his contemporaries.
Also please keep English comments to a minimum (German is preferred, French, Luxemburgish, Berndeutsch and Dutch may be acceptable). English language memes can be posted as long as they are pro-queer, leftist but not tankie and don’t glorify terrorists like Hamas and preferably no near-east discussions.
