So I’ve been posting space related stuff here for a while over [email protected] to distribute content more, within the last few weeks though it was closed and now directs posting to this other mander space comm [email protected] which is titled “Space & Astronomy”
So now I’m wondering what the differences are? What kind of content should go to [email protected] over [email protected] and vice versa?
I think that [email protected] is the most general community, and communities like “[email protected]” and “[email protected]” are subsets.
- Interesting data from a telescope? Astronomy and space, but not spaceflight.
- A new GPS satellite is launched? Spaceflight and space, but not astronomy.
- The Perseverance rover drills into a neat rock on Mars? Space, but not really astronomy or spaceflight.
- A new space telescope is launched? Definitely all three.
These are just my thoughts though, and I’d love to hear what others think.
@[email protected], @[email protected], @[email protected] Thoughts on changing the display name of [email protected] from “Space & Astronomy” to just “Space”? Not that astronomy posts wouldn’t be welcome, but it could help reduce confusion with this community.
Yeah. Actually confused me for a minute and I had to go dig into all the different communities on mander.
I think it makes sense to change the display name.
I’m good with that too. A pinned post and sidebar list should help people know where to share content.
don’t think much about it, just post where ever you want
